In this paper I focus the analysis on the statistics produced by the Public Prosecutor Office of the city of Buenos Aires regarding cases of prostitution in public spaces. These reports describe the conflict caused by such contravention and the answer provided by the justice system. Given that the figures usually speak more of the institutions that produce them rather than the conflicts to which they refer, one may wonder the ways in which these reports are actually produced and the images they build. I aim to place the production of these data in the context of its bureaucratic production and I wonder what are these statistics talking about? And, more important, what do they leave out?.
