This article is based on the ethnographic work developed in Buenos Aires historical center around the uses of urban space. It describes the disputes that arise between the different social actors who interact daily there. Applying Elias concept of established/outsiders (2000) and Giglia´s concept of urbanity (2008), it shows how the urban space´s appropriations, far from being neutral, are morally informed and subject to power relations.
