The objective of this article is to analyze the way in which the concepts of "community" and "culture" are problematized. Particularly, we try to analyze how such reconstruction happens in the social crime prevention strategies, in Argentina during the first decade of the new century. We do this by exploring the development of specific government interventions from the conceptual perspective of "governmentality studies", from a qualitative methodological approach. We argue that the community is a way of territorialization in such interventions. Furthermore, it is deeply rooted in a production on the cultural dimension of these social spaces.
