This article develops and analyzes the geography of dispossession defined by the Paraguay-Paraná Waterway during the 1990s, showing up the vertical and unilateral nature with which these types of large projects have been proposed in recent years in Latin America. The rejection of various populations to the megaproject is highlighted together with the actions of defense of the territory carried out by the Ríos Vivos Coalition.
